Welcome to Bradford County Paws

We are a non profit organization founded in January of 2006 to help the homeless, unwanted animals in our community.  We provide adoption programs, low cost spay/neuter programs and education material to the community.  Through our efforts we hope to make a difference in the lives of animals that do not have a voice.

Amazon wish list for Bradford County PAWS

We have set up a wishlist on Amazon.com for anyone wishing to help out the rescue. Amazon makes it so easy!

Our rescue could always use food, we use more than 500 lbs. a month, and our doggies are not easy on toys so any new balls or Kongs would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks everyone for all the support!

Banjo is a Australian Cattle Dog or better known as a Blue Heeler. He is a great companion and loves lots of attention.

Banjo was adopted from our rescue 5 years ago as a pup of only 8 weeks. He came back into our rescue a few weeks ago after being found on the streets in Ocala. When I contacted the adopted family they said the family went through a divorce and the wife got the dog but OBVIOUSLY she didn't want him. We are very happy that a good stranger contacted us and we got Banjo back. We are sure hoping if we can find him another home they will take much better care of him than his first family. He is blue heeler through and through so if you are not familiar with the breed please do your homework. He has lots of energy and loves to chase a toy for days!!!! To quote my favorite country singer, "He is not as young as he once was but he is as good as he ever was"! He is a great boy and looking for the right forever home. If you have lots of time and love to give he could be the one for you. Contact us at bradfordcountypaws@yahoo.com.

Holly says come and play with me

Holly was just returned to us last month after being adopted since she was 8 weeks old. Her family told us that she had a serious skin condition and they couldn't care for her any more. Come to find out it was only fleas. Holly is great and doing very well now. She is on Comfortis for fleas as well as heartgard and she is fine. She had lost some of her beautiful hair but it is growing back and will be back to her silky soft coat in no time, but Holly still needs a new home. She really wants a forever home this time with someone who will take care of her and make sure she gets her medication for fleas every month like she needs. She also loves, loves, loves attention and gets a little antsy when left along so if you are a home body or work from home and need lots of love and attention too, this is the dog for you. She is friendly, likes other dogs, and housebroken. If you have room in your heart for this love bug, contact us @ bradfordcountypaws@yahoo.com. Holly is waiting..........

Tattoo the super hound!

Tattoo is a treeing walker hound approx. 6-7 years old. He is current on all shots, neutered, and microchipped.

Shhh, don't tell Tattoo but he is not a pup anymore. He still runs like the wind and loves to be chased and plays like he is a baby. He loves the outdoors and the fresh air, (I guess most hounds do), but when play time is over he will most likely take your seat on the couch or on your bed if you aren't careful. If you have room in your home and heart for a big lug like Tattoo email us at Bradfordcountypaws@yahoo.com. Tattoo and I will be waiting to hear from you.

Shiloh needs a new couch partner!

Shiloh is a hound mix approximately 6 yrs old. He is current on shots, neutered and great with people.

Shiloh was adopted several years ago but lost his home when his family had some financial issues. Shiloh was taken back down to Animal Control where he surely would have be euthanized but we saved poor Shiloh again! Shiny as he was called just wants a forever home this time. He loves to just lay around and be a hound. He is good with people and would just love to be the ole friend hanging out with you on the porch or going for a walk or chasing those pesky "tree rats" in your yard. (not that he has ever caught one). If you have a spot for Shiny on your couch contact us at bradfordcountypaws@yahoo.com or call 904.334.7319. Please pass the word too. Shiny says thank you!

Rosie needs a home

Rosie has been living in the woods for some time and started to venture out looking for food. She is a very smart dog and actually made it to a house that is pet friendly. This family has taken care of her now for 2 weeks, feeding her, getting her shots up to date and trying to get her healthy but they can not keep her so Rosie is looking for a forever home. If you can open your heart to a dog in need Rosie would love to cuddle on the couch and make a friend for life.

Swisher's Dad is being deployed this week and his family had found a new home for Swisher but at the last minute the new home fell through so now Swisher is going to be homeless and going to the pound if we can not help find him a new home very very soon. If you have any friends or relatives looking for a great dog please give us a call about Swisher.

Economy has slowed rescues and adoptions @ BCPAWS

Due to the current state of the economy and the high cost of rescuing, vetting, and maintaining our current rescues (sometimes for 6 months or more) we have had no other options but to slow our rescue intake at this time.

It is very unfortunate that at a time when intake of animals at high kill shelters are at an all time high, we are unable to help, but until donations, volunteers, and the economy picks up we are forced to tighten the belt and help the animals we currently have committed to finding forever homes.

Thank you all for your support over the years, and we are still here for referrals, help with spay and neuter programs, and the food bank.

Thanks again for your support.
